Watercolor hand lettering

Using watercolors is so addicting – seriously. I guess there could be worse addictions.
The way the ink flows on the paper, the shine and shimmer, the way the colors can be blended, I could go on and on….

First, for paper, make sure you use watercolor paper – 140 lb. cold pressed paper. You can buy it on sale at Michael’s or Amazon.
XL Watercolor Pad, 9″X12″ Fold Over  OR Strathmore STR-361-9 Watercolor Class (24 Pack), 9 by 12″

The paper is so heavy so that when the water goes on, it doesn’t melt the paper.
I buy bigger sheets and then cut them to smaller pieces.
The LOVE below was done with Ecoline watercolors and then outlined with Brea Reese glitter inks.

I really love ♥ these paints, it is so relaxing.
How can you not paint rainbows and ombre colors? 🙂
