Sweet & Spicy Brussels Sprouts

So we went out to dinner last Friday night to a great little restaurant called, Wicked Sisters. (as a side note, if you live in Baltimore, go try this restaurant, food is delish!) We went to celebrate my friend Tracey’s birthday! Her husband, Billy, recommended that we get the brussels sprouts as an appetizer. My husband was all in. He loves them. Me – not so much. I recreated them for dinner tonight and my entire family (but me) ate them. I just tossed them in olive oil, salt and pepper and roasted them until they are carmelized. Then toss them in a sauce made from honey and Sriracha sauce, all done!

First thing you need to do is to rinse your brussels sprouts under cold water.

Cut off the end.

Peel off the outer leaves (this is trash).

 Cut them in half.

Toss in a bowl with olive oil, kosher salt and black pepper.

Lay them out, flat side down on a sheet pan. I line mine with foil and spray with cooking spray.

Roast at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

Here is a sneak peek, half way through cooking.
Half way through, I take out the pan, shake them around and try to turn some over with a spatula.

When they are done, they are all carmelized.

During the last few minutes of cooking, mix up this quick sauce –
1/4 cup of honey and 1 Tablespoon of Sriracha hot sauce.

Toss the sauce with the brussels sprouts, gently.

Here you go – all ready. My daughter could have eaten the whole bowl, but she had to share.
Hope you enjoy!
